Interesting Facts about Jon Krakauer

Jon was born on April 12, 1954. He was raised in Oregon where his father introduced him to mountaineering when he was eight years of age. After his graduation in 1976 he spent his life as a carpenter in Colorado, Alaska, and the Pacific Northwest. He loved to spent his free time in the mountains. In 1977 he spent three weeks in Alaska without seeing another person and traveled a new route called the Devils Thumb. In 1996 he finally made it to the top of Mount Everest, but during that time a storm hit the area and took the lives of four of his partners. He published his book called Into The Wild in 1996.
